The 2021 season started this Sunday at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Pierre made an outstanding qualifying session by taking a 5th place (two-tenths of the Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas)with medium tires, one of his best results confirming the good pace of the car Pierre: "I am really satisfied with my performance today. It is one of my best qualifying positions I have had with the team. For the first race of the year we need to show good potential for the season ahead,
and I think we managed to do that today. Using only the medium tire in Q2 was a huge risk, but we managed to make it work".After a good start, Pierre was disrupted on the first lap following a collision with Ricciardo forcing him to pit on lap 6 to change the front wing. Exiting the pit lane more than 50 seconds behind the leader and with damage to the flat bottom, Pierre's race was over.
